🧭 Context
At Eram, ensuring the quality of shoes delivered to stores is a logistical priority. Sourced from multiple suppliers and production sites, each pair is rigorously inspected upon arrival. Even a single overlooked defect can directly impact the in-store customer experience.
With high volumes and tight deadlines, inspections needed to be simple, fast, effective—and provide actionable insights over time.
❗Challenges
Quality was never ignored at Eram—the teams were committed, and inspections at receipt existed.
But the tools couldn’t keep up with the pace:
- Each site had its own habits, with inspections done inconsistently.
- Defects were detected but rarely analyzed or tracked.
- Recurring issues caused repeated disputes.
- It was hard to see across the network what was really going wrong, where, and why.
Teams spent too much time juggling Excel files, chasing missing information by email, and performing low-value tasks.
The company needed a solution that was simpler, faster, and smarter.
🛠️ Solution
Eram implemented a tailor-made application via Kostango, co-designed with the quality teams in warehouses and stores.
Goals: simplify the receiving inspection process while making it rigorous, visual, and collaborative.
Now, every pair is scanned upon receipt:
- Key data (brand, supplier, season…) is automatically prefilled.
- Operators simply check the pair visually, photograph any defects, tag them, and trigger corrective actions if needed.
- Even empty boxes are detected—nothing slips through.
Quality teams are immediately alerted to any non-conformity (scratches, misaligned stitching, wrong pairs, etc.) and can decide on returns, exceptions, or other treatments.
Purchasing, stock, and quality teams now work in real time on the same platform, turning every defect into actionable data—whether it’s a one-off issue or a seasonal signal.
✅ Results
The impacts were rapid and visible across the supply chain:
- 30 inspections performed daily on average
- 100% of shoes traced with photos and defect tags
- Immediate alerts to quality for any non-conformity
- Faster processing of defects and disputes
- Seamless collaboration between quality, stock, and purchasing teams
- Better visibility on recurring issues by model or supplier
- Accurate tracking of disputes: volume, financial impact, affected suppliers
